Md Elias Uddin

Assistant Professor


Dr. Uddin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Connecticut, where he teaches Advanced Animal Nutrition and Climate Change and Sustainable Animal Agriculture. His research integrates ruminant nutrition with life cycle assessment (LCA) and systems modeling to improve the productivity, efficiency, and environmental sustainability of dairy and beef production systems. He focuses on enteric methane mitigation, feed additives, manure greenhouse gas mitigation, and whole-farm sustainability assessments, with an emphasis on reducing the carbon and water footprints of livestock production.

Outreach and Service

Dr. Uddin is an active member of the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS), the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA), and the Bangladesh Dairy Science Association (BDSA). He also serves on the Graduate Studies Committee in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Connecticut and is a national committee member of the Feed Management Committee for the National Animal Nutrition Program (NANP), USA.
