What We Study
Research in animal genetics, genomics, and breeding includes topics such as genomic prediction, population genetics, animal breeding strategies, disease resistance, heat stress, behavior, and other complex traits that impact animal health and productivity. Faculty use genomic and statistical tools to study the genetic makeup of animals and support data-driven selection decisions across a variety of species, including cattle, fish, shrimp, pigs, and dogs.
